BROOKS DAVID GRIFFIN
Our son came here with a purpose. We called him our “angel” from the day he was born & he brought us 103 days of smiles. Every day of his life was better than the last. He brought love and joy to everyone he met. Lovingly, we called him our “Brooksy”.
On May 20th, our perfect boy went down for a nap in a safe sleep environment. Brooksy never woke up. Our world was shattered as we looked for answers and reasons for the loss of our child.
We soon found out that the nightmare we were living occurs to approximately 2000 babies a year. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is the leading cause of death in infants from 1 to 12 months. Despite the significance of this statistic, researchers know as much now about the causes as they did 50 years ago. There are no treatments. There are no tests.
We are determined to have Brooks remembered as having made a difference in this world. In his name, we have helped over 60 families navigate through the loss of a child. Through a variety of events, we have also raised awareness surrounding SIDS as well.
We miss our boy everyday.

OUR MISSION
We want people to remember Brooks and the love he brought to our world. By helping individual families who have endured the loss of their child, we feel that his name will live on through those he makes a positive impact on.
Our family received an incredible outpouring of support from so many people in our lives when Brooks left us for heaven. We needed every bit of it as we struggled to keep from sinking. The grief from losing a child puts strain on every aspect of life. Because of the community who surrounded us, we saw ourselves as fortunate as it enabled us to focus on putting our lives back together.
Through Brooks Mission, we hope to be that community for others.
Our aspirational goal is to create a network of experienced and recommended counselors who are licensed in each state. By creating this, there will be a 'hub' where those in need can feel comfortable that they are receiving the right help. This process has already begun.

Since October 2021, our supporters have helped over 60 families.
Many families do not have employers who stand behind them while they grieve.
Many families do not have the type of community surrounding them that we had at our lowest points.
